What Makes This Practice Different

Choosing a mental health provider is an important decision. Stewart Family Psychiatry was intentionally designed to offer care that feels thoughtful, personal, and deeply respectful of each individual’s experience.

A Whole-Person Perspective

Mental health challenges rarely exist in isolation. Emotions, life experiences, relationships, physical health, and environmental stressors all interact. My approach considers the full context of your life, so treatment feels relevant and meaningful.

Experience in High-Intensity Medical Settings

My background in emergency medicine taught me how to stay calm and steady during difficult moments. It also gave me a deep appreciation for how overwhelming emotional distress can feel when someone doesn’t yet have the language to explain it.

Clear, Human Communication

Mental health concepts can often feel confusing or overly clinical. I prioritize explaining things in clear, relatable language so you can better understand what you’re experiencing and why certain strategies may help.

Neurodivergent-Affirming Care

Different ways of thinking, processing information, and experiencing the world are valid. My practice provides support that respects neurodivergent individuals rather than trying to force them into rigid expectations.

Medication Used Thoughtfully

Medication can be helpful for some individuals, but it should never be the only approach. When medication is considered, decisions are made collaboratively and carefully, with attention to both benefits and potential side effects.

A Collaborative Relationship

Therapy and psychiatric care work best when they feel like a partnership. You bring your lived experience; I bring clinical knowledge and perspective. Together we develop a plan that supports your goals.
